Office Update

Dear Towne Pointe Dental patients,

We understand that the recent news and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation may have caused you to re-think your daily life and visits to dental offices.

Currently, The New Jersey Dental Association strongly recommends that dentists practicing in New Jersey voluntarily suspend nonessential or nonurgent dental care for 14 days, starting March 16th. We have already rescheduled many routine procedures and preventive dental care in the past week, and we will continue to do so for the next several weeks. We anticipate that such measurement will be in effect for several weeks as an effort to limit the spread of coronavirus.

As of Saturday, March 21, 2020, New Jersey announced Executive Order No. 107, which becomes effective  at 9:00 p.m.

“Medical facilities may continue to operate. Medical facilities include any facility where a sick or injured person is given care or treatment, such as: doctor’s offices, hospitals, dentist offices, long-term care facilities, and other medical offices. “

The following are our current plan on office hours and treatments:

  • Dental emergencies will be screened. Please call our office first to talk to someone or leave a message. Dr. Huang usually reaches out to you within 1-2 hours once the message is heard.
  • No new preventive dental care can be scheduled.
  • Any dental appointments in remaining March and April will likely be rescheduled. We will contact you individually.
  • Some finishing treatment may be proceeded so that there won’t be complications developed due to delay on delivery.

Please note that Towne Pointe Dental provides the highest level of infection controls in the treatment rooms. Everything a patient or doctor touches is either changed, covered with barrier wrap, or wiped with disinfectant wipes. Additionally, our front desk wears new gloves when handling transactions. Front desk may also wear a mask. Each pen is wiped per use. Countertop is disinfected every 30 to 60 minutes or between patients. We remind patients to wash hands when they arrive and before leaving. Social distancing of 6 ft is strongly followed. We also do not double book patients; so you are not likely in the waiting room with other patients.

We are continually monitoring the situation. Our priority is everyone’s health and wellbeing. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a rapidly changing situation from a public health perspective. This is an extremely fluid situation and will be monitored and assessed on a daily basis.

Stay safe and practice good personal hygiene.

Dr. Chien H. Huang & Towne Pointe Dental Team.
